Anyways, I spent all day drawing "Estel". I need serious improvement, but I enjoy drawing original characters so hopefully I'll get better at it over time. I'm thinking of doing another Squid Lady. One that's a little more.. expressive.
Edit - Oh, look, I finally figured out how to edit my journal. That took considerably longer than it should have. Anywaaays, I decided to give Corel Painter a shot and I have to say I absolutely love using it. I drew a new Squid Lady, and although the result has turned out much more cartoony than my previous attempt, I quite like it and despite the imperfections, I'm proud of myself.
I wish I could draw smoother lines though. (I don't suppose anyone would have some tips for me?) My lines always come out jaggedy and rough and very unprofessional looking. I have a tablet, but it doesn't seem to make much difference whether I draw with the pen or with a mouse.
I feel the urge to draw overly-cute little critters now.
